जम्मू-कश्मीर के कठुआ में 8 साल की मासूम बच्ची के रेप और हत्या के तीन महीने बाद इस मामले को लेकर देशभर में माहौल गर्म है। इस पूरे मामले ने राजनीतिक रंग ले लिया है। न सिर्फ राजनितिक पार्टियां, बॉलीवुड सेलिब्रिटीज भी इस घटना का विरोध कर रहे हैं। सोशल मीडिया पर 'जस्टिस फॉस आसिफा ' मुहिम चल रही है। सभी सेलिब्रिटीज लोगों से अपील कर रहे हैं कि वह इस मुहिम से जुड़े और बच्ची को इंसाफ दिलाएं। बॉलीवुड से भी प्रतिक्रियाएं आई हैं। 2016 में आई पिंक में एक यौन उत्पीड़न की शिकार लड़की का किरदार निभाने वाली तापसी पन्नू ने भी कठुआ गैंगरेप मामले पर तीखा सवाल किया है।
तापसी ने ट्वीट में लिखा, ''तो अब देश में रेप धर्म के आधार पर होने लगे हैं। मौजूदा हालात को देखकर तो ऐसा ही लगता है। क्या हम एक दूसरे पर निर्लज्ज होकर उंगली उठाना बंद नहीं कर सकते, हम सबको ये मानना होगा कि पूरे देश ने इस घृणित अपराध को मजाक बना दिया है।''
तापसी के अलावा फिल्म इंडस्ट्री के कई बड़े कलाकार इस मामले में खुलकर अपना गुस्सा जाहिर कर रहे हैं और आसिफा को इंसाफ दिलाने की मांग कर रहे हैं।

बॉलीवुड एक्ट्रेस सोनम कपूर ने भी इस मामले पर ट्वीट कर लिखा था कि वह इस घटना से शर्मसार महसूस कर रही हैं। वह इस दिखावटी राष्ट्रवाद और हिंदुवाद से परेशान हो चुकी हैं। मुझे विश्वास नहीं हो रहा कि मेरे देश में ऐसा हो रहा है।

वही प्रियंका चोपड़ा ने भी इस मामले पर तीखी प्रक्रिया जाहिर करते हुए लिखा, धर्म और राजनीति की लड़ाई में आसिफा जैसे और कितने मासूम बच्चों को अपनी जान की कीमत चुकानी पड़ेगी। हमारे जागने से पहले और कितने बच्चों को ऐसे अकल्पनीय यातनाओं का शिकार होना पड़ेगा। मैं इन सब से तंग आ चुकी हूं। ये कड़े से कड़ा एक्शन लेने का वक्त है।
